OK, made a scenario to start with. NATO Attacking; Drittes Reich Defending; Black Hand activation by Events. 10 turns. I'll get cracking on finishing the rules reading...this cold has my head kinda fuzzy so it's taking a little longer to get it to stick in my noodle   :|

Dont have the scenario book in front of me, but I am ok with anything, Played scenario 1 3 times but it doesnt have any events or advance stuff so it is fun but I am looking forward to anything. The events seem to really make the game for me. If there is no side preference, I would like the black hand.
There are some great player aides on the geek, but this game is pretty straight forward. I am sure you wont have any trouble.

Oh.. and Scott, dont worry about me being "experienced". I consider myself the "Boardgame Morale officer". I play so badly I make everyone feel good about how well they play haha. Jack of all trades, master at none..

I'd like to make the first game pretty straight forward and relatively low complexity....that way, no one is overwhelmed (including me) and we get some basics down before getting more ambitious. Kinda a boot camp sort of deal....agreeable to all?

I am all for simplicity but I dont mind a little craziness too. Its hard to feel the flavor of this game unless some features are there...
1) Events are important! It makes the game to me
2) Radiactive fields or Biochemical stuff is fun!
3) Barrage is very simple, and very deadly

Most all the rules are very simple, even airplanes. And its just cool to see a giant Ogre swat a plane out of the sky if he can get close enough!

Im up for anything, but I would appreciate if its not "too" basic". Win or lose its the chaos that makes this game to me :)

You gotta remember Charles that it needs to be "easy" for the GM to run it in a timely manner as well. Especially when running it for the first time and on the net, I've been there many a times with new games myself, let me tell ya!! ;)

Cheers, once all of you have a handle on it then the next game can be full bore.

Not a problem, just trying to make sure you understand where Em is coming from, from a GM's point of view on net gaming this way. ;)

Cheers, good luck with the game guys and maybe I'll join you in the next game on this!!

Tom
