TANK BATTLE rules for the net game

Postby TRDG » Fri Jul 27, 2012 4:56 am

You ready guys, first thing to know is that there is NO difference between the Germans and the Americans for any stats in the game, be it their tanks, AT guns, mines and tank numbers, got it??

BUT whoever chooses the US Sherman tanks is the one who has the first turn in the game

NEXT

I will let Hagen decide what he will play (as he was the first to post he will play the net game), the GREEN Americans or the TAN Germans.

Post up when you can Hagen and I can get things rolling on the main game thread coming soon.

Cheers, good luck to Hagen and Scott and thanks for playing!!

OK

So Scott has the GREEN US side.

US Green deployment pic, need to deploy 6 tanks, 5 AT guns and an HQ, Ammo Dump and a Fuel Dump

CLICK on the pic for a larger view remember!! :)

Post on this thread when you decide where each of the units go, using the square numbers on the board, or just say going right to left, 1 square then 4 over would do as well.

1. First thing is to place your 6 tanks on the back row squares ONLY, don't worry about the numbers as I will ask you to PM what numbers go where.
Tank deployment is UNDERNEATH the BLUE line on the map (bottom squares). The tanks themselves are also underlined in BLUE. These units are the ONLY units THAT move in the game.

2. Then deploy your 5 AT guns BETWEEN the 2 LIGHT BLUE lines, usually to ptotect the HQ, Fuel and ammo dumps All of these are underlined in the LIGHT BLUE. Once in place they DO NOT MOVE for the rest of the game.

3. Then also deploy the HQ, Ammo dump and Fuel dump between the 2 LIGHT BLUE lines on the map. These units DO NOT MOVE for the rest of the game. Each of these units MUST be on their OWN vertical and horizontal line (IE you can't place them next to each other or behind one another)

Cheers, got it so far Scott and Hagen? Back to work and I'll finish off the basic rules and give Gagen a pic so he can deploy his forces.

And Hagens Germans deployment

2012-10-22_072333.png
German deployment set up, just like the US team

1.Place your 6 tanks on the bottom back row only, from the pinkish line down. And like Scotts don't worry about numbers as you will PM me on where the 1-6 numbers go.
THESE are the only units that move in the game!!

2.Next the 5 AT guns are deployed BETWEEN the Orange line on top and the one further down, usually placing them to the sides of the HQ, Ammo and fuel dumps. Once placed they CAN'T be moved!!

3. Place your HQ, Fuel and Ammo dumps between the Orange lines as well, each MUST be on their own vertical and horizontal row, NOT next to each other or directly behind in a row. Once placed as well they CAN'T be moved.

Cheers, got it Hagen? And REMEMBER this is the OPPOSITE of the board Scot is on so you have to reverse your thinkg, if you know what I mean.

The basic rules are next so study VERY carefully.

The Rules for the game

FIRST thing is to pick [b]2 empty squares[b] in YOUR OWN side of the board to put land mines in. Then PM me on those two locations. This relates to the HQ unit in the game, but more on that later.

In turn ONE ONLY, both players may move and NO SHOOTING happens

MOVEMENT

1. EACH player MUST move his tanks a TOTAL OF 6 squares per turn.

A. Tanks may ONLY move forward or sideway, they may NOT move backwards, diagonally, move back and forth returning to its starting square in that turn.

B. At LEAST 1 TANK MUST move forward 1 square (or more) out of all your tanks.

C. Indivigual tanks CAN'T move MORE than 3 squares in a single turn, with two exceptions explained later, one here below and one in the combat post below this one!!**

D. Any tank CAN'T move through any units square, from another tank and AT gun to the HQ, Ammo and Fuel dumps.

E. Tanks CAN'T land on any other tank or AT gun squares.

F. A tank May land on an opponents HQ, Ammo or Fuel dump to attack and destroy said unit.

G. IF an tank gets across the board and reachs their opponents last square then IT BECOMES a Command tank (denoted with a flag). And then it can move backward as well as forward, as well as to the sides, but NOT diagonally.

** WHEN a player is left with 2 TANKS OR LESS, then the 3 square limit is removed as well as the MUST MOVE A TOTAL OF 6 squares. MOVE UP TO 6 squares is the new rule.
BUT one of the tanks must move forward at least 1 square, unless it is a command tank

Cheers, questions? Then post away gentlemen, combat is next!!

COMBAT RULES

1. BEFORE the first player in TURN 2 makes his moves, his opponent has to PREDICT WHERE his opponents tanks will move. He has "6 SHOTS" to PM to me where his 6 shots go. PM me on where you will place your shots BEFORE your opponent moves.

The moving player posts where he will move his tanks on the main game thread.

A. IF that player moves and lands on a square that his opponent "shoots at" then that tank is destroyed.

B. If destroyed this way the number on the tank is NOT shown to the opponent.

C. IF it just moves acrosss it in passing to another square then nothing happens.

Both sides get 6 shots regardless of how many tanks they have, the exception being that IF your ammo dump is destroyed, then how many tanks you have IS the number of shots you get!!

2. Also, before the player makes his moves his opponent can USE up to 5 in TOTAL (for the whole game) special AT gun shots. These will also be PMed to me before the player moves their tanks, then it is declared that the AT gun special "shots" was used. so up to 5 more squares can be predicted as to where an enemy tank lands,
BUT once all 5 shots are gone, they are gone for GOOD!!

Cheers, face to face combat is next.

CLOSE COMBAT

1. When two tanks are right next to each other (either across from each other or side to side ONLY) at the end of movement. Then a tank on tank battle happens, both players show their tank number and the highest number wins, lower numbered tank destroyed.

A. IF a tie then BOTH tanks are destroyed!!

B. IF next to an AT gun then a spinner is used to determine the results, the tank has a 75% advantage. I as the GM will spin said spinner and post a pic of the results of either the AT gun destroyed, ot the tank.

2. To attack an HQ, Ammo or Fuel dump you move your tank to your opponents installation, then it is destroyed. BUT you must fight all surrounding units if they are next to your tank as well.

A. IF the HQ is destroyed then the 2 minefield squares are now inactive.

B. IF the Fuel dump is destroyed then that players tanks are reduced to ONLY 4 square moves per turn, instead of the usual 6.

C. IF the Ammo dump is destroyed then you get as many "shots" (guesses) before your opponent moves as you have tanks, NOT the usual 6 shots.

3. IF a tank lands on an OPPONENTS landmine square then the tank is destroyed, as well as the landmine and the square is clear for the rest of the game.

A. If a tank just passes through the landmine square nothing happens.

Cheers, post your questions guys as needed, and once set up we can play a fun game!!
