Robotech Miniatures

Postby Darkeldar » Sat Aug 24, 2013 7:11 am

As I stated here: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1226 I was a model builder way before I got into miniature games, and I did have a fling with anime kits in the early to mid '80s. Among the first, if not the first built, I picked it up at one of the hobby stores near Ft Campbell, KY and this was way before Robotech was released. So before Robotech that I was wondering why there was a bust of the pilot included in a 1/144th airliner scale kit (now I know). So here is Imai Queadluun-Rau from the Macross Japanese tv series.

She's a bit worn from surviving a house fire and the subsequent cleaning, but maybe I'll work on her the same time I work on this:

The GenCon exclusive Miriya Female Powered Armor in 1/285th scale by Palladium and Ninja Division.

This is going to be a work in progress thread, as I try to do credit to both kits.

Cool, I have some old Robotech comic books (the thick ones) that I collected over the years that I would be interested in trading or selling.

Wow...that is really cool! I have to admit that I've never built anything Robotech or similar.

I worked on a lot of the models during the Macross/Robotech boom back in '84, and after I got out of the Army and returned home, I fell in with a person that was creating his own Macross miniatures game using 1/200th scale model kits. I ran the game at a few local conventions for a couple of years.

I have been working on the Queadluun-Rau where it is "all" together, I just have to attach the body to the backpack, but I won't do that till the painting is finished. I should have pictures shortly.
