Let's do the village, and I'll take Green Berets, please. I'm excited, but I am very busy, so please have patience with me!

Ok, I take the Soviets....and we'll go one step at a time (I have to remove a lot of dust from my brain cells also... ).

We'll use the following Optional Rules:

15.1 - 16.1 - 16.2 - 16.3 - 16.4 - 16.6 - 16.7 - 16.8 – 19 - 20 - 21 - 23
About BDA=body armor: in the past I had simulate their effect negating a wound on areas 3 and 4 (chest and body) from hit by blast, pistol or smg with full effect on other ares. Soldier-wearing BDA are subjected to ALL other effects of impact rule (i.e. go down if impact are 3 or more and lay stunned if impact is 4 or more...), they are not Terminators, after all!

You'll found the scenario attached as a pdf and you have the first work to do: assign the x-tra equip between your soldiers.

I do the same with my soldiers and do some choice (some very HARD!) about the formation to follow on map entry and I'll pre-plot all the movement.

When you have done your set-up, I began to march into the night and you'll stop as you want to start the shooting... :o

F'Pered! (Foward!)

P.S. We have to start a new thread, should be "MWF Wargames" the right place ?

The actual game thread is where you will play the game out, but any logistsics and set up you can do a second thread in The Logistics forum, as to set up and who does has what and all

So the game thread itself is easy to read and to see what is going on, not a bunch of set up stuff if possible.

PM me if you need any further help guys

Luca, thanks, this looks awesome. I'm glad I've done an ambush scenario with vehicles before; that'll be a big boost for me. This should work a lot like my Nicaraguan solitaire game.

I'll work on those EQ assignments.

By the way, I'm confused about the Soviets' exit. They have to exit a long side, but to get VPs they have to exit the western edge. Isn't that a short side? I suspect a typo; I think the Soviets are supposed to exit a short side. That's how it was in my Nicaraguan scenario.

The Soviets' exit (western) is the opposite side of the entry one (eastern), I don't think it is a typo (it is a short side), if they could exit doing a withdrawal move, with or without the APCs it means an easy move out on the first impulses of turn 3!!!!

With the need to cross the map, this is a little bit more difficult...

Yes, very. In Nicaragua, the commies had the same situation. They were escorting a coffee truck with a BRDM-2. The contras blew the truck and managed to hit the APC's turret with a LAW before it could fire. The surviving commies tried to run to the other end of the map, but they didn't have a prayer without any vehicles. Looking back, they probably should've focused on keeping the contras from exiting...but I was still learning.

Luckily for me, the GBs are better trained than even your Soviets, so this may go very well for me. Yo Joe.

"Get out, you're nothing but a lot of talk and a badge." (the little detail is: it is...a GBs badge!!!!!!)

"Poshli Za Nime!" (let's get them!) 8-)

I scooped up a little list of Russian Military slang...I hope it is correct:I never insulted anyone w/out a good reason.
(BTW the BTR70 is in leasing....and the payments are a pain! )

By the way, as we are now moving from the "call for players" phase into an actual game, might I suggest you start a new thread in the Logistics Center where I can post my EQ assignments and we can continue preparations for the game?

You are right, but I'm leaving Rome bound to Assisi to spend a few days for a well earned rest, for the soul and the mind.

I'll be "off-line" until saturday night when I'll return to Rome.

Sorry for the delay but I'm in the middle of packing the luggage for my daughter (a 6 year old need a lot of thingie, after all...) and cannot open the thread.

Can you open it for us? When I return "on-line" I'll post my roster and we'll talk about the map to have a "recon run" to get the terrain straight. The scenario use standard terrain value but do not use some printed terrain features.
If you have time, you could begin to think about a set-up sketch...
