CALL FOR PLAYERS: Dogs of War card game (Warp Spawn, 2002)

You're a military contractor, a recruiter competing against other recruiters for the best soldiers of fortune to take on dangerous missions with big payoffs.

Everyone starts with $100,000. Negotiate a fee, build your team, make bank and try not to get the best mercs killed.

This card/dice game is for 2 or more players. It's very simple. I'll keep players updated on what's in their hand via private messages, and I'll post the latest action in the game thread.

I'd love to see a decent group playing this. It's not just for wargamers! Let's go.

It looks simple enough but I still have to read through the rules again.

Cool. By the way, since the players won't see the cards and I'll be coaching them on their options, it'll feel more like an RPG than a wargame. I was tempted to post this in the RPG section. I plan to go beyond the cards and give locations and other details to place the players in that world.

This looks very cool....I've heard about he Dogs of War system and believe there's a miniatures game version, too? I'd jump in but, I've a lot on my plate at the moment, so I'll defer to other members first.

Good job, mate!

Thanks, Em. There are wargames called Dogs of War, but I believe they're unrelated. just a coincidence.

Gotchya! I think this has the horsepower to be a popular fixture here at MWF.

Hope so. I've put a lot of thought (and work) into it this week, and I'm excited.

Let me read up on the rules in the next day or so, and I'll see if I might like it. Do they have a fantasy type game by chance?

For now, I think we will keep it here, then once I read the rules, I'll weigh in where it should be played out bud.

Cheers, good going from me as well Scott!!

Glad you asked, Tom. I just looked at their games list and was blown away. They have hundreds, in every genre you can imagine. I just saw about ten others I want to look into. Their game menu is here: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/INDEX2.html
