Stargate SG1 Miniatures Game

Postby Whiterook » Sun Jul 28, 2013 7:10 pm

This is an AAR of a Playtest of my Stargate SG1 Miniatures Game!

The scene:

SG7 was just wrapping up a mission and made their way back to the 'Gate, when their day went bad quick....a System Lord and his Serpent Guard have arrived through the 'Gate! Apparently, they got wind of a treasure stash in the temple and have blasted it out of the temple floor. Worse...they've brought along a Jaffa Heavy Cannon!!!!

SG7 is held up at a section of Garrison wall being constructed by local inhabitants.

SG7 has first turn and activates 5 of the 6 Marines, including the Leader (4th from left). They conduct stationary fire at the two Serpent Guard in front of the temple, taking them by surprise, as well as the Heavy Canon. The cat's out of the bag now!!!!

Fire results in a kill to a Serpent Guard and the Heavy Cannon Crewman, but their armor reduces them to Suppressing (note the temp markers); and the other Serpent Guard is suppressed with no save.

Rally attempt fails for all concerned.

One Serpent Guard retreats to protect the System Lord, and is out of FP range.

Four Serpent Guards walk forward and fire, only one scoring a hit, which is saved by SGC armor.

Bad day for the SGC...the Leader and Heavy Machine Gun have both been killed by the Jaffa Heavy Cannon; the cannon expending 3 kill shots on the Leader to negate a potential armor save, and a kill double tap and miss, with the Heavy Machine Gunner's armor failing him. The Serpent Guard misses....

Ohhh, Snap!!! A bad day just turned tragic! The System Lord got religion and moved forward, using his handheld device to kill 2-SG7 Marines; and the heavy cannon taking care of the rest!

SG7 has been routed and eliminated!

image.jpg

Conclusion:

Well, granted their were some reeeeeeeal good dice coming up for the Goa'uld....but what killed SG7 was the System Lord and Heavy Cannon, wreaking havoc and destruction to over 50% of the SGC team in one fell swoop. Might need tore-think the power of the Heavy Cannon and System Lord's Handheld Device...though, in the show cannon, they are that powerful.

Note that the setting are components to a forthcoming diorama....still needs a lot of work!!!
