Ok, let's do it this way.

1st AP: T-34/85 in J5 moves to K5, facing south.

2nd AP: T-34/85 in K5 and T-34 in L5 fire at Panther HQ in K7.

3rd AP: Katyusha in H2 pivots to face south.

4th AP: Katyusha in H2 fires at Puma in E4.

Turn 8, Impulse 2

The Russian commander receives 4 APs....

1st AP....
Move T-34/85 in J5 > K5/S

2nd AP....
Fire T-34/85 in K5 + T-34 in L5 Town @ Panther HQ in K7
-------> Roll 6 + 2 + 2 Firing = 10 ATTACK; compared to Panther HQ's 10 DEFENSE
-------> RESULT: KILL

3rd AP....
Katy in H2 Pivots South

4th AP....
Fire Katy in H25 @ Puma in E4 (this isn't gonna be pretty! :o )
-------> Roll 1 + 5 + 1 Firing = 7 ATTACK; compared to Puma's 8 DEFENSE
-------> RESULT: MISS
(Phew....that was close...right over their heads; just like North Korea at Japan!) :lol:

Turn 9, Impulse 1

The Germans receive 4 APs....

Move Panther (+1 road bonus) G2 > J3 Town/SE

2nd AP....
Move Puma E4 > depression G2/SE (Slick move!!! PeekaBoooooooo!)

3rd AP...
Fire Puma in G2 @ Katy rocket launcher in depression H2
-------> Roll 6 + 5 + 1 Firing + 1 flank shot = 13 ATTACK; compared to Katy's 7 DEFENSE
-------> RESULT: KILL

(That was probably the best use of the Puma I've seen used to date!)

4th AP..
Fire Panther in H5 @ T-34/85 in J5
-------> Roll 3 + 6 + 1 Firing +1 flank shot = 11 ATTACK; compared to T-34/85's 9 DEFENSE

The Russian commander surrenders.

Great game, Frank and Duncan!

Em, thanks as always for moderating.

You're welcome. Thanks for your patience to both players during my two injuries.

It is steep odds on a win for the Russians. Rolling against at Tiger with 11 Defense with one tank is not optimal. For giggles, I rolled for an attack and it didn't happen so, it was indeed un-winable. Your only chance was a kill on that Tiger and move up to the Panther in J3 this turn; and hope to kill the Panther and move into town the next.

This game is harder than it looks, and deadly as hell.

Awesome strategy on both sides...I love seeing this game play out.

Thanks for a good fun game Scott :D , it was a really up and down game but losing two units when there were so few on the table did make it unwinnable for you.

When Em has time to run it did you want to swap sides and give it another go?
