1st AP
Tiger platoon in H9 moves to H8, facing north.

2nd AP
Panzer HQ platoon in F9 moves to G9, facing north.
Panzer platoon in G9 free moves to H7, facing north.
Panzer platoon in E9 free moves to F8, facing north.

3rd AP
Tiger platoon in H8 and Panzer platoon in H7 fire at Wolverine platoon in H5.

4th AP
Panzer HQ platoon in C10 moves to D9, facing north.
Panzer platoon in D9 free moves to E9, facing north.
Panzer platoon in B9 free moves to C9, facing north.

Turn 2 - Phase 2, Germans


The German commander positions for action ....he received 3 APs:

1st AP....
Move 1x Tiger platoon hex H9 > H8; Facing H7

* NOTE THE YELLOW DOTS FOR FACING

2nd AP....
Move 1x Panzer IV HQ platoon F9 > Town G9; Facing G8
Free Move 1x Panzer IV platoon hex G9 > H7; Facing H6
Free Move 1x Panzer IV platoon hex E9 > Woods F8; Facing F7

3rd AP....
Fire Tiger H8 and Panzer IV H7 @ Wolverine Hill hex H5
-------> Roll 2 + 3 = 5 + 2 Firing = 7 ATTACK; compared to Wolf's 8 DEFENSE
-------> RESULT: Sherman platoon = MISS

Phew!!!!!! I did NOT see that Pz IV swing over from G9 for a double team on my Wolf! I gotta shake out the cobwebs! Nice positioning, Commander! Having that Wolverine platoon still standing is a bit of a miracle...I really need to ponder that hill position.

Have to say my first thought was, "Scott can`t do that, his own unit blocks line of sight", but I suppose that the M10 being on a hill means it can be seen?

That's it....if a unit is on a hill, it can see, and be seen by any opposing unit at ground-level and in range. I forgot about that when I saw Scott swing over and was thinging his Pz IV platoon was gonna be pissed, egtting shot in the ass by their own troops; then it hit me, 'Oh CRAP!' Only the dice saved me. Now I have to decide whether to take a pop at the Pz IV platoon, or pull back....I hate to loose a Wolverine platoon on Turn 2!

Just got in from a long day....will look with fresh brain cells tomorrow :D

I thought only terrain blocks LoS anyway. Can I get a rules check? :geek: :)

8.2 To determine LOS.... 'Blocking obstacles are all units as well as hill, town, and woods hexes.....Units on hill hexes may see/be seen over units on clear terrain hexes.'

Note that all units have a limited range (in hexes) so an enemy unit could be at your max range (either way, for whose on the hex) and see over an intervening obstacle (e.g., two, tank platoon, extremely tall jackrabbit, alien spacecraft, etc.).

The American commander consolidates troops for the oncoming forces ....he received 4 APs:

1st AP....
Move 1x Sherman HQ platoon hex G5 > Hill H5; Facing H6
Free Move 1x Wolverine platoon hex H5 > Woods I5; Facing H5
Free Move 1x Sherman platoon hex F4 > G6; Facing G7

Move 1x Sherman platoon hex E6 > Hill F4; Facing F5

3rd AP....
Fire Wolverine I5, Sherman HQ H5, and Sherman G6 @ Panzer IV H7

-------> RESULT: Tiger platoon = KILL

4th AP....
Move 1x Wolverine platoon hex A5 > Hill A6; Facing B6
