Now, a picture of where the M18 Hellcat by the farm used to be. Where did it go?

post-344-12822570163368.jpg

Here it is! It moved up the road at full speed with Road Bonus, and takes position in back of wire on the opther side of the forrest from the threat of the Panther skulkiong around the Villa.....

Next, a picture of where the Damaged VC Firefly was, sitting next to it's flaming bretheren earlier. Where did it go?

post-344-12822570164695.jpg

Here it is! It used it's full slower movement crawl into the entrenchment, scooching the M36 Jackson unceremoniously to the side a tad......

With the German Panther moving menacingly forward along the side of the Villa, the Allies summon as much strong firepower as they can muster to shore up that flank.

Meanwhile, the two squads of German Panzer Grenadiers pose a bit of a problem to the Allies, so they dispatch one of their "Infantry Killers", the dreaded Humber, to the pond edge, bearing all guns on one of the squads......

post-344-1282257016697.jpg

The Allies would have liked to send the other Humber for the second squad, but that pesky German Machinegun Team in the Villa house has it occupied at the moment, tough it moves out of the LOS of the Panther....dahhhhh......

Now we come to the Pinned M18 Hellcat surrounded my German Opel Trucks. It can't move, but it can fire! Guess where the gun is pointing?

post-344-12822570168053.jpg

Still can't tell?

post-344-12822570168615.jpg

It's pointing that way.....

Shells unleash, scorching the hood of an Opel and sending the driver running for the hills.

A shot rings in right on the Hummel's weak hiney and blows it apart

post-344-12822570171439.jpg

The ammo is exploding all over the place....

post-344-12822570169747.jpg

But as with the Armored Car, it still can fire before it's demise in the upcoming Casualty Phase.

And for the final action, we have the 3" Gun artillery piece.....

post-344-12822570172008.jpg

With Mortar spotter....

post-344-1282257017258.jpg

Shells range in on the German Panther with two hits, which would have Damaged the normal tank, but the Panther's SUPERIOR ARMOR Capability reduced the attack's hits to one hit, and a Pin result. That's one tough pussy cat!

Thank you guys.....and on to the last two phases of the game:

German Assault Phase & Overall Casulaty Phase ~ Turn 8

The Hummel and and 234 Armored Car both succumbed to battle, but before meeting their firey end, the Hummel fires off a deadly barrage on the procession of four Shermans, with the Armored Car spotting for it; and Damages the first, second and fourth Sherman, missing the third Sherman. The Armored Car then fires it's last shot at the front-most Sherman and send the crew to their end, KIA. So that's one Sherman gone, and two Damaged.

That was awesome use of the Hummel's BLAST capability, which allows it to fire on units that are clustered together. The Americans took a chance with the clustering of their tanks, but the chance to seal up their Left Flank was just to big a chance, and it paid off....but at a price as we see.

Next, the Germans move their two squads back into the Villa yard right behind the Humber. Infantry do not draw Defensive Fire from vehicals, so the Humber can't fire Defensively at them. Axis & Allies Miniatures does not have the kind of Assault fire that the Commander asked for in his orders, as in this system, you can either move or fire, not both.....but had the Germans won Initiative in the now not to be run 9th Turn, and fired first, I rolled oit for the heck of it: It was two dice each against 2 rear defense on the Humber....one miss, the other would have Pinned it with one hit....theorhetically, of course.

And a few last shots of the board as we close out the game......

END OF GAME: 8 Turns, and tons of action from determined players, and a game fought very, very well indeed.

Congratulations to the Allies on a Major Victory, and Kudos to all the players!
