Gibbs.

I think I must have listened to these with a more open mind than the first ones you posted as , although I can`t ever see myself buying any of their stuff, it was quite listenable to and it is always good to get exposed to new things.

You did nearly end up owing me for a new keyboard though as I had a spluttering/tea spitting moment as it dawned on me that I probably had the exact same expression on my face when I heard the first one as my dad did when he first heard The Beatles introducing Ravi Shankar to a western audience. Complete incomprehension

Christmas eve here in the UK, so, time for a couple of seasonal songs, from the more folkie end of the spectrum this time.

Another unusual one, even after all these years Maddie Prior`s voice just soaring over the rest of the chant still brings chills to my spine

I have heard this next one sung by top choirs and soloists but this is by far my favourite version, it sounds like it comes from the heart unlike the empty soulless "proper" versions.

Finally, not a folk style number but, what the hell, I have been good this year (well, mostly) and I think I deserve this, so, for me and all males out there, Cerys Mathews and some Welsh bloke.

I don't usually have songs from other countries and other languages stuck in my head. If I don't know what the words mean, I don't usually listen. I like old time rock and some more modern country music. Rascal Flatts comes to mind, oh, and Sugarland. (my wife's personal favorite, guess she's been playing it a little too much, now it's stuck in my mind like glue) ;-)

I guess this is relevant. I've been putting on a radio show for the past few weeks, and I get all the songs from YouTube. They're all new favorites of mine. Mostly '80s alternative, post-punk, and new wave, but I mix it up with a lot of oldies, soul, funk, and reggae too. Check it out:

I'm amazed to see yamaha and Crypton Future Media's progress with the English voice bank over the past few years

And now for a trip to the weird side of the internet I would really love to know what was running through his head when he came up with this
