The man from U.N.C.L.E.

Postby MAGNA » Fri Feb 14, 2014 10:01 am

Does anyone remember this show ?

I remember it had Robert Vaughan as the lead along with David McCallum (Ilya Kuriakin was it?).

They used to go into some shop which was a front and their boss would then tell them what they were
doing this week. I think the boss was called Mother.

I've seen nearly everything else available on DVD and most as reruns over the years but never this
show. Wonder what happened to it ?
My get up and go never got here in the first place

Ooooooh....a FABULOUS show which I loved!!! I hadn't found out 'til many years later, after getting into the James Bond movies that Ian Flemming was a consultant on the show in the beginning, and came up with the Napoleon Solo Name!!!

BTW...the boss was Alexander Waverly, known as "Number One". 'Mother' was the bad guy top-dude on The Prisoner

I thought Mother was Steeds boss on The Avengers, played by Patrick Newell if I remember right.

I think he did play No 2 on The Prisoner for a week, but there was a different No2 every week. I can`t remember, did we ever find out who No1 was?

As you guys have said, UNCLE was a terrific show, I never missed it.
