Movies and shows NOT even worth a rental or watching IMHO :(

Postby TRDG » Fri Nov 09, 2012 7:42 am

I think we need a thread like this, just so we might be able to see what NOT to waste our valuable time and cash on.

Feel free to add in yours, be they movies, TV shows or series that you watched and wondered why you even bothered!!! :o .

I'll start it off, just rented this one......

Chernobyl Diaries

I thought it was worth a rental but it was not that great, pretty poor in fact...... not even close to spooky or scary, very predictable....

Cheers, and I do expect other WGF members to maybe disagree sometimes, not a problem there either.

And another one

Jett Lees

Flying Swords of Dragons Gate

Once in a while movies like these can be pretty good, but not this one sad to say, its no House of Flying Daggers!!

Cheers

We rented a little movie called Lost (2004) for Halloween. Low budget thriller/road film starring Dean Cain, who spends the whole movie on highways in Nevada, running from Danny Trejo. Sounded pretty awesome, and it had its moments, but there was a lot wrong with it, especially the dialogue. And they got a great character actor and a great face in Danny Trejo, but they decided not to show his face at all, except for a reflection in a car window at the very end.

I just noticed that this movie actually got fairly good reviews. I'm surprised. I guess it's pretty good considering it's the director's first film ever. But it coulda been a great movie in experienced hands.

I'll try to come up with a worse movie next time!

Next up on the not so good list

That Dragon Age animated show, not even close to amusing........

Then we have Don't be Afraid of the Dark, midget looking posessed rats, with human faces, kind of, I kid you not.

Take a pass on these two!!

Cheers

You mean the show where the kids ride around on their dragons? I've been watching that with my two-year-olds. We like it.

Nope there is an actual movie about DA, never saw the cartoon version.

To me, GREAT anima is stuff like

Ghost in the Shell
Akira
Patlabor II, The Movie
Wicked City
The Venus Wars
Ninja Scroll
Ninja Resurection

Cheers, if you ever find those to rent, I'd suggest giving those a go, adult themed for many of them though!!

I think josta59's talking about Dragons: Riders of Berk TV series which is a spin off of the How to Train Your Dragon animated movie.

Just watched "LOL", another school coming of age story from our latest generation.

I expected a bit more but Demmi Morre was at least nice to look at, but thats about all....
