INTEREST CHECK: 2-person video/miniatures hybrid game

Postby josta59 » Wed Feb 10, 2016 10:23 am

I need two players for a scrolling shoot-'em-up game in the style of the Ikari Warriors game from the 1980s!

The author of the Able Archer wargame rules just added data cards for USMC and Poland--what polar opposites in terms of experience. So the two players will be Marines fighting their way through everything the Polish Army has to throw at them. And I'll moderate using the Able Archer rules, condensed down to the one-to-one scale.

You don't need to know the rules to play...just run, find cover, and shoot!

This game will feature:
  • Loads of green enemy soldiers with thinly armored tanks, helicopters, and bunkers
  • Three lives for each player
  • Initiative rolls heavily favoring the players (2d6 vs d6)
  • Urban and rural terrain with plenty of cover...usually!
  • Fog of war--the players can only see so far ahead!
  • Tanks the players can use temporarily
  • A boss at the end, of course!

You've never played a wargame quite like this before! Who's in?

Bump to put this on your radar. Let's use my new Firepower miniatures rules instead. Also, enemies will get better at maneuvering as the game goes along, just like in the old arcade games!

Sorry....missed this! Interesting concept. If it doesn't require rules I need to read, I'll consider playing.
If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning

Em, I totally forgot you're interested! Sorry about that. I'll get something set up. Maybe you can play both characters.

I'd love to have another player for this game!

Thanks for playing this, Em! I think I'll not do it again.
