My rock band

Postby josta59 » Fri Jun 02, 2017 2:42 pm

I don't think I ever mentioned in the forum that I joined a new rock band in Columbus called Trigger PoYnt last fall as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. We've already been through a couple of bassists, but now we're finally in a place where we're ready to play on stage. We'll probably do that in about three weeks at an open-mic night in my town. It'll be my first time playing on stage with my own band. It's a long-time dream for me that's finally coming true, so I'm pretty ecstatic.

I know someone will probably ask what kind of music we play, so here are the songs we'll be playing for our first open-mic night. We plan to play mostly original music eventually, but it's easier starting out with other people's music.

Queen - "Tie Your Mother Down"
The Beatles - "Come Together" (Aerosmith style)
Sweet - "Fox on the Run" (Ace Frehley style) (as recently heard on ads for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2)
Judas Priest - "Headed Out to the Highway"
Mountain - "Mississippi Queen" (I prefer the Ozzy Osbourne version)
Stone Temple Pilots - "Interstate Love Song"

The hardest part for me has been memorizing all those lyrics. And we've been working on several other songs, too! It's probably keeping my brain young.

Good for you, a good choice of music as well.

Let us know how it goes.
