But Not In Shame, by John Toland

Postby Frank » Thu Dec 11, 2014 3:44 pm

I was really happy to find a copy of this in a charity shop, I borrowed a copy from my local library while I was doing my school History project in 1971 and, to be honest, had forgotten about it after that. It is a very detailed look at the six months after Pearl Harbour. It was unusual at the time for the now quite common mix of historical documentantion and interviews with eye witnesses. It is also well written, not like some of the books that are good for the history but slow and hard to read.

John Toland has always been one of my favorite author, along with Cornelius Ryan. I love the way they put a story together.
