My latest Bagel Obsession!

Postby Whiterook » Sat Feb 11, 2017 12:43 am

I love bagels!!! We usually pick them up in the grocery store bakery department and freeze them for use over the subsequent couple weeks. Friday is Bagel Friday for me, and I'm pretty consistent.

My latest obsession is making a Honey Walnut Spread for my bagels! I have made it a bit healthier by using a substitute dairy-free cream cheese, called Tofutti...

I spread the non-dairy cream cheese on a halved bagel; crush some walnut meats in my hand and sprinkle on the cream cheese; and then drizzle honey on top! I finish it off sometimes with some grated flax seeds, poppy seeds, or hemp seeds (or a combination).

It's fantastic :D

We have a Bagel Shop down the street; they have excellent spreads to put on the Bagels; they put it on the side, usually there is enough left over to make it worthwhile to order a second bagel.
