Legend indicates that in 1492 Boabdil, the last Muslim ruler in Spain was scolded by his mother, Why do you cry like a woman over what you could not defend as a man. With the downfall of the Nasrid Dynasty, Fernando and Isabella were able to cosolidate their power.

Spain was filled with experienced Military men, the discovery of the New World provided these men a new lease on life.
