So that's an idea of the miniatures in construction. More pics to come showing how they look now.

They are looking good, the Vyper look very effective.

OK, some finished pics of the miniatures on the prototype hexfield map....

The Cylon Basestar.....

Image

I have two of these. This puppy is a hulking beast, probably 5 or 6 inches of pewter, with a gorgeous sculpt to it. It sits on a custom stand different from all the other ships....a metal stand, as the ship is quite hefty!

And it is supported by destroyer type capital ships, which I haven't decided yet can launch limited fighters squadrons.....

Image

Image

Both of the above are different shapes.....I have one of each. These represent all the Cylon capital ships I own.

Next are the Cylon Raiders, which are fighters. I own 34 squadrons of them (each miniature representing a full squadron).....

Image

And I also have 16 bombers (pictured at the bottom of the following picture), and 4 Heavy Raiders (the boxy shaped craft)....

Image

I don't use the bombers as bombers, but as regular fighters instead, which brings my fighter compliment up to 50 squadrons. If I do use the small capital ships in the previous post as carriers, I'll likely have the bombers launch off of them, but as fighters.

The last Cylon craft I have are Scouts, of which their are 8 squadrons.....

Now for the Colonials!

First up, the Battlestar Pegasus (on the bottom), of which I own one; and a cruiser above it, of which I own 4. To the fore are some Mk VII Vipers...

Image

And of course, the Battlestar Galactica (top) and a medium battleship Battlestar. In back, you can just see some Mk II Vipers! .....

Image

A destroyer (bottom), which I own one of; a frigate (middle), also one of; and another picture of the cruiser...escorted by Mk II Viper squadrons.....

Image

A Battlestar battlecruiser, which I own one.....

Image

And a closer view of the destroyer....

Image

I did a touch of weathering to all the capital ships but, I think I might at some point hit them with some Citadel washes...maybe some Devlan Mud and/or Badab Black

So where am I with the rulebook and game system?

Well, I had finished the rulebook, following the game design I came up with, and I came to a realization. I had a totally unique game system unlike anything I've ever seen. I realized that I wrote a unique space combat game and then added in Battlestar Galactica. I re-read the whole rulebook.

End result: Strip out what I plugged in for Battlestar Galactica and come up with my own universe and storyline, which I did. The beauty is, I can still play Battlestar Galactica with it, adapting MY origial game rules, to play in that universe!

So with that, this project, started so long ago, is officially closed.

Yes, but I have to figure out some things, first.....

First up, when the charts, stat cards, and rulebook re-write are finished, I need to playtest the system to work out any bugs I hadn't picked up on.

Second, when I know the product is 'Final', I'll apply for a formal copyright with the US Copyright Office. Here in the States, it is technically copyrighted now, as the games copyright laws are real grey in scope in coverage in many respects; yet clear in other areas.

Third, it will make it's debut in here on this site, it the Quartermasters' board.

Somewhere in this mix, I'll have a few trusted gamer friends give things a look see, with the rules.

The plan is to have a rulebook, countersheets, players aides, and stat cards. Sale will likely be done via PDF Download. In this way, I can sell it myself...no middleman.
