Gale Force Nine - Firefly: The Game

Postby Frizzenspark » Wed Aug 07, 2013 4:28 pm

Firefly: The Game Find a Crew - Find a Job - Keep Flying

Image

In Firefly: The Game, players captain their own Firefly-class transport ship, traveling the ‘Verse with a handpicked crew of fighters, mechanics and other travelers. As a captain desperate for work, players are compelled to take on any job -- so long as it pays. Double-dealing employers, heavy-handed Alliance patrols and marauding Reavers are all in a day’s work for a ship’s captain at the edge of the ‘Verse. Firefly: The Game is a high-end thematic tabletop boardgame from Gale Force Nine (GF9). It will be the first in a series of tabletop hobby boardgames and miniatures games from GF9 set in the Firefly Universe.

I've volunteered to be a demonstrator for this game.... until a few days ago, I hadn't actually seen the show.... Luckily, it's on Netflix, so I've been catching up... should make a great game....

Good'onya for your role in the game developmental/marketing strategy. Looks like a cool game. I've heard nothing but good about the show, though I only had the opportunity to see part of one episode. It's on my 'must watch eventually' list!!

No prob....looking forward to your thoughts on the game. Would love to see a thread in the Wargame Academy on what it's like being a demonstrator at these things....start to finish. Maybe a few pics, too.

Usually, I have everything planned out when I running demos, minis, terrain and the setup. But for this weekend, I've got to be flexible as Bostria, detailed one way he wants things run, but we have way too many resources, for the simple demos he's described. Yesterday, I got in another box of terrain on top of what we used last year.

I'll have a camera with me so we can take pictures of our respective booths.

It was a great series and a pretty good film, I hope the game lives up to it.

Looks interesting.
