Wizards of the Coast/Hasborg has been the cause of death for many fine games.

Well, I can't disagree with you there! I've never been impressed with WotC's role in backing the game...especially their lack of presence at conventions like Origins over the years. They, and Hasbro appear to be in it solely for the $$ and not for wargaming, IMHO. Both are below the bottom rung of the ladder for my interests in support.
If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning
