The making of 'Incident of the Seven Jeeps'

Postby Whiterook » Fri Jul 15, 2016 9:01 pm

The 'Incident of the Seven Jeeps' is an intriguing action that took place on D+1 of Operation Market Garden, where a bullheaded Colonel ignored the warnings of foot soldiers, and lead is convoy of seven jeeps down the wrong fork in the road....right into the jaws of the Germans.

It plays out on the Lock 'N Load Publishing, Heroes of Normandy wargame (formerly, Band of Heroes).

Elements of the 101st Airborne Division were called upon to lead a small rescue party in to save the wounded and extricate them back to friendly lines. It was a costly endeavor.

Sources came from the book "Rendezvous with Destiny", by Leonard Rapport and Arthur Norwood, Jr.; and from "Hell's Highway: Chronicle of the 101st Airborne Division in the Holland", by George Koskimaki.

The following attachment is a draft, to be play-tested this weekend.
