Command Con 2015

Postby 50th » Tue Nov 10, 2015 12:13 am

Last weekend was the Big Muddy Historical Gaming Association convention, Command Con 15.
I went for all three days this year, (my wife told me I might as well stay for Sunday as well. Good Wife!). First I played in a sea battle search and destroy game:

Next up was my Memoir 44 overlord scenario, which I forgot to take pictures of. It was the last overlord scenario in the Equipment Pack Scenario Booklet.

The next day I played in a wild western game:

I will post more pics and descriptions tomorrow!

And here we have "The Hunt for Red October":

And we (the Americans) escorted it safely off the board:

here are a couple of cool games I didn't play in:

Another game I didn't play in, I like the 3D terrain!:

I'll post more tomorrow on games I did play in!

That last one looks particularly impressive. I rarely see miniatures games played at that scale.

In this next tank game, played on Saturday night, I played a platoon of Panzer 38T and a platoon of Panzer II's:

I forgot how thinly armored the PZII's were and the got shot up as I came out onto the road:

And then, my Panzer 38T tanks were shot up (all but two):

We were against KV-1 platoons with 1 KV-2, and some T26 and a platoon of BT-5 with two BT-7 tanks.

Sunday when I came back I played a game where the 30th Infantry Regiment had to clear the hedgerows and a couple of small towns:

My units in this game are the anti-tank gun (with truck) and units in field with truck and gun and closest units:

Later in the game;

The truck and gun were knocked out, ("smoke 'em if you've got 'em) smoke rounds from mortar on enemy troops to hide my movement.
